Gullible's Travels

Written by Jim and Jane Jeffries

A Southern gentleman, two con men from the North and a bevy of Southern women forces in this clever comedy set in 1940s Georgia to bring you sharp dialogue, slapstick stage action and a laugh-a-minute story — actually, many stories — to remember!  Dabney R.  Pickett, a fine Southern gentleman, journeys to his hometown after a 70-year separation from his first love, the recently widowed Miz Anna Mae Shelby.  Like Odysseus, he’s had many bizarre adventures.  Unlike Odysseus, Dabney did not rack up massive casualties — unless, of course, you’re talking about the truth!  Dabney’s the master of tall tales, but a whole new story brews when he meets up with two Yankee swindlers on the train.  Unbeknown to him, they are en route to visit the same Miz Anna Mae with the intent of claiming her estate by posing as long-lost relatives.  But Southern women are not to be trifled with, as both Dabney and the scoundrels find out the hard way!  The richness of this family-friendly comedy is like a plate of homemade biscuits swimming in gravy.
